On Saturday, October 10th, I had the opportunity to meet Shepard Fairey during a break from the mural that he and his team are currently working on in downtown Milwaukee. His team is working with Wallpapered City, founded by Stacey Williams-Ng in 2016.
Fairey’s mural “Voting Rights are Human Rights” on the north face of the Colby-Abbot building located at 759 N. Milwaukee Street in Milwaukee.
Wisconsin artists Tom Jones, Dyani White Hawk, Tyanna Buie, Niki Johnson and Claudio Martinez collaborated with Fairey to incorporate their artworks into a single cohesive mural.
