Wausau, Wisconsin – The Center for the Visual Arts will host a public reception this Saturday, August 9th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. for its exhibits that opened this Summer. This closing reception will be the last opportunity to see the current exhibits on display. The reception is free and open to the public.
The Caroline S. Mark Gallery is currently displaying a juried exhibition titled Photography &. This competitive exhibit showcases the medium and discipline of photography, highlighting the breadth of contemporary photography—from digital to historical processes. Exhibit Juror Andrew Musil will announce awards during the reception. Musil is also leading a unique Cyanotype printing (or Solar Printing) workshop that afternoon from 1 pm – 3 pm. This workshop is $25 and great for teens and adults. Participants can register at the CVA website listed below.
The Vault Gallery features a solo installation by local artist, Savannah Canavan. This delightful installation, Fruit Stand, features bright and beautiful paintings available for purchase.
These two exhibits close on Saturday evening after the receptions, but are on view duringregular gallery hours until then. Entry to the CVA is always free during gallery hours.
The public is invited to join the artists of these shows in celebrating their work and expression at this upcoming reception. Receptions are always free and open to the public. Appetizers and beverages will be provided to all those who attend to enjoy the art.
