The Rahr-West Art Museum is proud to present 2025’s Art of Tablesettings exhibit and programming. This year is the 51st year of the exhibit and will bring over forty innovative tablescapes inspired by works of visual art.
To honor the 75th Anniversary of the Rahr-West Art Museum, we offered a special challenge to this year’s table designers: design a setting for the widest painting in our collection, Paul Jenkin’s Phenomena: Saturn Ascent. At over 13 feet wide, this painting is not usually available to designers due to each designer having only 6 feet to work with. Despite its size, Mrs. West created a table design with the painting in 1980, with a disco theme. Four designers took up the challenge, and we will see how their creations capture a variety of interpretations of Jenkins’s piece.
