2025 was a successful year for Artdose. We dipped our toes in writing reviews on exhibitions and events, sponsored the inaugural Door County Contemporary Art Fair, continued our partnership with the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, organizing an emerging artists program, welcomed Rachel Hausmann-Schall as our first co-editor and guest contributing writers, and selected Issis Macias as our 2025 Artdose Editions artist.

Over the past several years, I have become increasingly interested in paying closer attention to data. Using data as an assessment tool has revealed new insights and areas for exploration. Technology is great, but I have found that the results in decision-making are made through personal observations, conversations, and the good ol’ gut instinct, which makes me think a bit more about the future of Artdose. Finding ways to broaden its scope and expand its reach to include more of the artistic vibrancy and culture that exists in the Midwest is the joy that keeps it moving forward – a publication that is driven by passion and purpose.
Things are looking healthy as we head into our 13th year of connecting and supporting the visual arts in the Midwest. As an independent art publication, we are grateful for the support and the relationships we have built and continue to nurture both online and in person.
2025 Issues

Cultivating an Emerging Artists Community
An Emerging Artists Program

In 2023, Artdose collaborated with the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, organizing and facilitating an emerging artists program for underrepresented BIPOC artists. The goal of the program is to provide professional support and opportunities for personal and professional growth. The program continues to evolve, guided by the artists’ ideas. Education, advocacy, and representation are pillars of this program. This collaboration turned into a partnership that we continue to nurture and maintain.
Curation – Annual Indiana Green Invitational

In 2010, I organized a group exhibition titled “Indiana Green” in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. This exhibition was my way of saying thank you to the artists who supported my journey as an artist. What was supposed to be a one-time exhibition slowly grew with interest in wanting to be a part of it again. Although there was a bit of hesitation, I decided to organize another one the following year. This led to 5th, 10th, and 15th anniversaries, featuring over 90 artists.
The Indiana Green Invitational is an annual group exhibition that features contemporary artworks by artists living and working in the Midwest. Since 2017, the Indiana Green Invitational has traveled throughout Wisconsin annually, featuring a new roster of artists working in diverse media, genres, artistic processes, and narratives. This curated exhibition features significant contemporary works being created in today’s regional contemporary art landscape, bringing new voices into the conversation.
The 2025 Indiana Green Invitational highlights 7 emerging artists from the 2023 and 2024 emerging artist programs. They are Liala Amin, Amal Azzam, Geornica Daniels, Nehemiah R. Edwards, Gabriela Marván, Fernando Rico, and Sonia Vasquez.
A Project Space is Born
In April, I decided to rent a studio space. Part of this 1300+ sq ft space has been converted into A Project Space. After a seven-year hiatus from the Frank Juárez Gallery, I return to organizing exhibitions, driven by programming that amplifies diverse voices from emerging to mid-career artists working in varied media, genres, and processes. A Project Space will provide the perfect backdrop for experimentation, conversation, and community building—sparked by curiosity, creative risk-taking, and critical discourse. A Project Space complements Artdose’s brand and identity.
Data Collection 101
Although Artdose’s primary focus is not on the number of followers, friends, or subscribers it has, we pay attention to our engagement on all platforms. We ensure that we disseminate high-quality content from our advertisers, artists, and the Artdose team, informing our readership about local and regional announcements, exhibitions, events, artists, etc, and encouraging them to become active participants in what our beautiful Midwest region has to offer.
