Indiana Green Invitational

Indiana Green 2020 at Between Two Galleries,
Walker’s Point, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Indiana Green is an annual group exhibition featuring 2-D and 3-D works by artists living and working in Wisconsin. The first Indiana Green was curated by Frank Juárez in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, in 2010 to recognize artists that supported him as an artist. What was supposed to be a one-year exhibition gradually grew into an annual exhibition gaining the attention of artists in Wisconsin. Since 2017, Indiana Green has been traveling across the state of Wisconsin with a new roster of artists. To date, it has featured 80 artists.

Indiana Green introduces a diverse body of work by artists working from such as but not limited to: paintings, mixed media, sculpture, printmaking, installation, and photography. This exhibition features works that are meaningful and significant today in Wisconsin’s contemporary art landscape.

Effective January 2020, Indiana Green will no longer be organized through the Frank Juárez Gallery (permanently closed). It will be curated by Frank Juarez and organized by Artdose Magazine, an independent print & digital publication aimed to connect and support the visual arts in Wisconsin.

Why Indiana Green?

The name Indiana Green originated from the 2010 inauguration of this exhibition. Indiana refers to the street that the venue is located at – Indiana Avenue. Green refers to the exhibition space that hosted it, which is Greenseed Studio and by happenstance the establishment that we went to after the reception was called the Green Room Pub. – Frank Juarez, curator
