De Pere, WI – newART/v opens on January 10, 2025, marking the fourth year of art exhibitions and related programming at newARTSpace. This annual exhibition features a select group of artists from Wisconsin with a special emphasis on artists who live and work in the northeastern region of the state. This year’s selection of artists includes Abigail Marquardt (Green Bay) working in fiber, Beth Schueffner (Appleton) with painting and collage, Donald Taylor (Green Bay) sculptural works in wood, Julie Baugnet (Allouez) artist books and ephemera, Lynn Gilchrist (Sturgeon Bay) painting, Mari Anna Chism (Sheboygan) painting, Mark Kolinski (Algoma) ceramic sculpture. The artists that inspired newART/v are as wide-ranging in their experience as they are in their choice of media and source of inspiration — from emerging artists to those who have gained prominence in their work over many decades of dedication to their creative practice.

The exhibition will herald in the new year with a meet-the-artist reception from 5-8 pm on January 10 that coincides with the monthly Art Nite in Downtown De Pere. The exhibition will run from January 10 – February 22, 2025. Visiting the galleries at newARTSpace at 124 N. Broadway, Ste. A, in De Pere is always free and open to everybody.

Frank Juárez is an award-winning art educator, curator, and arts advocate based in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Known for his commitment to elevating contemporary art and supporting Wisconsin artists, Juárez has spearheaded numerous initiatives, including the Midwest Artist Studios Project and the 365 Artists 365 Days Project. In addition to his roles as publisher of Artdose magazine and editor-in-chief of SchoolArts magazine, Juárez has curated exhibitions and juried art shows throughout the Midwest. His dedication to art education and advocacy has earned him numerous accolades, making him a pivotal figure in Wisconsin’s art community.
