About Mini Golf & Chairs
The Mini Golf & Chairs exhibition features 20 iconic chairs from the private collection of Southeast Minnesota residents Ruth and Dave Klawiter, created by world-renowned architects between 1904 and the 2010s. These extraordinary pieces showcase a variety of aesthetic choices, innovative manufacturing techniques, and references to history, culture, and nature. The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on how creative thinking can be applied to both everyday objects and architectural spaces, including regional gems like “Big Blue” Rochester Technology Campus by Finnish architect Eero Saarinen.
Adding a playful twist, the exhibition includes a mini golf course designed by regional artists in collaboration with A Couple of Putts. Each artist selected a chair from the collection and created a mini golf hole inspired by its shape, color, and textures. This interactive experience invites you to see design from a whole new perspective while having fun.
The evening will be filled with live music, featuring Yonci from 8–10 PM, followed by the Madison Parish Ensemble from 10–11 PM. Whether you’re there for the art, the music, or the mini golf, this will be an unforgettable celebration of creativity and connection.
Printed or digital tickets are required for entry. Don’t miss this unique evening of art, play, and community!
