Born in Sun Prairie, Wi, Georgia O’Keeffe is celebrated as being one of the great modernist painters of the 20th century. O’Keeffe’s well known abstract botanical paintings secured her a place in art history and her art world fame solidified her cultural significance here in the City of Sun Prairie. “Beyond O’Keeffe” is an exhibition of exceptional, living contemporary artists working in Sun Prairie and neighboring counties of Wisconsin working in a variety of styles and subject matter. This survey of artists showcases the diverse, vibrant talent of the contemporary art landscape here in the state of Wisconsin. The exhibition is open to all 2d media in any style and subject matter with the intention of bringing contemporary art to a new audience in Sun Prairie. “Beyond O’Keeffe” is curated and organized by Sun Prairie artist Rebecca Kautz with support provided by event partners, including; Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce, Prairie Music & Arts, and Monarch on Main in conjunction with the inaugural Sun Prairie Mural Fest in June 2025.
Beyond O’Keeffe will be on view in the commercial lobby of Monarch on Main in conjunction with the City of Sun Prairie’s inaugural Mural Fest happening June 23rd – 27th. Monarch on Main is a new, luxury apartment building in downtown Sun Prairie. The buildings first floor is commercial space and has a spacious light filled lobby that is open to the public Monday-Friday 9-5pm. The wide public lobby has 12 foot+ walls that can accommodate large 2d works. The art exhibition will be promoted by the City of Sun Prairie through various platforms and advertising as one of many music and art events in the city during June 16-27th, 2025. Also including Make Music Day programming on Saturday June 21st. The Mural Fest will include a calendar of special events and programming to coincide with this tourist event.

Submission Requirements:
- only 2D work may be submitted
- Sun Prairie, Wisconsin & Dane County artists encouraged to apply.
- open to all subject, styles, themes and medium
- women, LGBTQ, minority, and disabled artists are encouraged to apply.
- Artists must live in Wisconsin.-work completed in the last 3 years.
- No work larger than 60 inches maximum in any direction.
- Large work is encouraged.
- work must be framed, professionally presented, and ready to hang with wire.
- NO Sawtooth hangers.
- Submit 1-3 images & accompanying documents in a single PDF file.
- Include in your PDF document: 1-3 images (including title of work, dimensions, medium, price, and year), 250 word artist statement , BIO with contact information including mailing address, email, artist website if you have it, and phone.
- Submissions must include the items listed above. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Art Sale Information:
Work may be for sale. Sales of artwork will be handled by individual artists. Contact information and purchasing information will be on label information.
Insurance & Disclosure:
Artists are encouraged to hold individual insurance. The space will be monitored by building manager during regular business hours Monday-Friday, 9-5pm when the building is open to the Public. The lobby is monitored by security cameras. The building is closed to the public after hours and lobby doors are locked. Participating artists assume all risk of artwork on display. Participating artists agree, the exhibition venue and lead organizer will not be held liable in the unlikely event that work is lost or damaged during the exhibition.
