Lauren Paradise at Levee Contemporary

Lauren Paradise Paintings, Levee Contemporary, Princeton, Wisconsin

Recently I attended a reception at Levee Contemporary to see their newest exhibition, “Lauren Paradise Paintings.” If you are not familiar with this gallery, it is a contemporary commercial gallery nestled in downtown Princeton, Wisconsin. This seasonal gallery celebrated its 3rd anniversary and has brought Jorge Gutierrez as its gallery manager, who has been instrumental in the day-to-day operations.

I love discovering new artists especially in Wisconsin. Our state has so many artists waiting to be discovered.

Frank Juárez, founder + publisher

This exhibition features 40 paintings with subject matter ranging from people she would love to meet, places to live in, and objects to surround herself with. The people in her paintings are imaginary. Her experimental color mixing gives her work a dream-like appearance that is subtle and pleasing to the eye.

Lauren Paradise was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Rome, Italy. In 1971, she attended Saint Martin’s School in London, England. In 1972 she attended Urbino State School of Art in Urbino, Italy, and in 1973 she attended the deCordova Museum School in Lincoln, MA.
